How To End Your Organizations Year When It’s An Uncertain Outcome Due To An election?

It is the end of 2024 and the election has left a lot to be wondered. It is important, however, to remember the basic concept of engaging with your legislature. Is not only common but encouraged. That being said, there are a couple of things you should keep in mind as an organization while engaging. These are things you should always keep in mind. However, if the climate is at all uncertain or seats are yet to be filled, these pointers become that much more poignant. Make sure your organization takes the following steps and you will have a strong start in the coming fiscal year.

  1. Pure local representatives who are recently elected into office.
  2. Read their BIOS. Often found on their primary websites.
  3. See if they are hosting any events and attend them.
  4. Always be respectful. Do not go into an event thinking about what your organization needs and how much financial assistance or anything else. Recognize the work that was done to make the event possible. Simply thank them.
  5. When leaving the event, you can give a representative of that office an organizational card or some way to get a hold of you. To try and arrange your first introductory meeting.
  6. When thinking about that introductory meeting, keep in mind that the climate of the time. If it is more conservative, your organization needs to be aware of what that means.
  7. Be prepared to compromise. Know what’s important and what you can afford to put aside for another year.

If Your organization keeps these 7 tips in mind You will have a stronger start to the upcoming fiscal year. It is important to remember that at the end of the day, no organization gets everything they want, even if the year isn’t conservative. Stay true to your organizations mission, but be aware that the political climate, the change of legislative representatives, etcetera do impact what type of year the state’s face. Whether you’re in California or abroad. If you keep on your mission and keep these 7 tips in mind, you will have a strong start to the year.
