Quick couple for your consideration –
- Do you know someone with a disability? Do they live in the state of California?
- What would you do if you could directly get involved in the process of political and social change?
With those thoughts in mind, let’s get down to it. In reality, change is a team sport. It doesn’t happen overnight, and it takes a lot of individuals working together to make it happen. Working in assisting the disability community for several years now, I fear that sometimes this concept is lost. We need to regain it. Yes, grassroots lobbying has very technical elements and you need people like me that understand the political process to get it done. However, we as a population need a united message; and if we speak as a single population sharing a common goal of equality and fair treatment, the overall treatment, and civil rights issues of the disability community, especially in California, would truly improve. So, let’s stand together.
